Whether you are concerned about the Coronavirus or not….we wanted to mention some tips you can do in order to boost your immune system and improve your general health and wellbeing. First of all…we are not licensed medical professionals. However, we have some knowledge and experiences that we believe might be beneficial. These are some pillars of health to consider. (1) Fresh air and exposure to sunlight. Get outside and breathe some oxygenated air…especially as you are performing some activity and thus breathing deeply. Natural sunlight actually is healthy for you as long as your are not overly exposed. Vitamin D is synthesized by your body as your skin is exposed to sunlight. Sunlight exposure also causes your body to produce a hormone called serotonin…which helps to boost your mood. (2) Water / hydration. We’re not referring to soda, tea, etc. Just high quality…plain water…and plenty of it. If you don’t have enough water in your system then your body can’t perform important functions. It’s not just about quenching your thirst….it’s about giving your body what it needs. (3) Nutritious food. Try to give your body more of what it needs….not just material that is tasty yet devoid of much nutritional value. Try to consume more whole foods…especially those that are fresh and raw…such as carrots, oranges, or brocolli…just to name a few. Food consumption should be more about quality than quantity. (4) Rest / sleep. You can live longer without food than you can without sleep. Your body performs many maintenance and repair functions while you sleep. (5) Physical activity / exercise. I’m not talking about focusing on your appearance and trying to build the perfect body….I’m talking about being active so that your body is in balance, and your muscles….including your heart…are strong and your joints are flexible. Activity increases your blood flow and helps get more oxygen into the blood as well. (6) Manage / Reduce stress in your life….at least toxic levels of stress that you can avoid. Whether you realize it or not….stress can negatively impact your health. Laughter and a positive outlook can help combat the damage that negative distress can cause. You can take the negative energy caused by stress and do something positive instead…like Forrest Gump did when he went running. (7) Vitamins / Minerals / Supplements. If we ate more nutritious food, then we would not have to supplement our bodies with some of these extra items. It’s like the statement “you are only as strong as your weakest link.” If you are deficient regarding certain vitamins and minerals then that can negatively affect your overall health. Take a high quality vitamin / mineral supplement….not all vitamins are equally effective. Some other things to consider in this category are: medicinal herbs, essential oils, superfoods, etc. (8) Improve your bodily and household hygiene. Keep your body and your environment clean and reduce your exposure to toxins. One simple way to do this is by utilizing natural…nontoxic bodycare and household cleaning products. If there’s anything we can do in order to assist you with your health journey, then please feel free to contact us…if we can’t help you then we’ll try to put you in contact with someone who can.
